For anyone who has lived in or around Charleston, we all know what "the sound of freedom" means - the loud, deep rumbling booms of Fort Chaffee artillery exercises. Locals always say that the military "aims" at Potato Hill - so in that spirit, we will too!
Potato guns are a fun activity that safety-conscious folks can build at their own home. Our potato guns must be regulated – please see the rules!
Update 9/18/2025: Mapp and acetylene propellants are not approved. Propane is approved.
The competition check in will start around 1:00PM, and shooting will start at 2:00PM on Oct. 25th 2025 *Participants must sign all required documents to compete
If you haven’t signed the forms, you will be required to do so. Entry up fee is $10. Potatoes will be provided. The winners of each category will receive a custom championship trophy.
